When it went up in 1954, the pump house had one job: carry water from Ford Springs to the entire town of Bentonville. The town outlived the arrangement, but the building stayed in service. Airship, the Bentonville roaster, restored it and put a coffee counter inside; by its own account, the work kept the original character rather than clearing it. What once supplied a whole town now serves the street it stands on, in one of the city's oldest residential neighborhoods. The day ends at 4 PM and the offer is coffee and pastries only — no evening, no menu beyond that.
