The San Antonio artist Chuck Ramirez spent years as a graphic designer and art director for the grocery chain H-E-B, and it shows in the work: large-format photographs of a heart-shaped chocolate tray, a pile of peas, a paper plate, shot as portraits of the people who buy, use, and throw them away. This solo show reads the checkout aisle as evidence of a life. Opens July 18 in the Momentary Galleries, free.
