Recurring series

Deep Listening Club

Get there before sunset: seating inside Crystal Bridges' Turrell Skyspace is limited, and you'll want to be in the chamber when the light show starts. Once a month, under the oculus cut open to the sky, a regional sound artist plays a set that begins about half an hour before dusk and runs an hour, timed so the music and 'The Way of Color' dim the daylight together. Admission is free, no tickets, and the lineup is curated with Bentonville community radio KOBV — a different experimental or ambient act each edition, from Dalton Huerkamp to Sasna Kra. Rather than a fixed weekday, editions land near a full moon, an equinox, or a solstice, so the schedule keeps to the sky's own calendar. It gathers the small crowd that already follows this end of NWA's music, and gives those artists a recurring room to play. Come ready to actually listen: it's a quiet, seated hour, not a social night out with music in the background.
