Fenix Arts

The artists who hang at Fenix Arts also run it. Juried in, the members staff the gallery at Mount Sequoyah Center themselves, bringing what they know from construction, curation, sales and social media, and the collective keeps its commission on their work low. It began in December 2016 as an artist collective, showed for a stretch as Fenix Fayetteville in a storefront off the square, and became a 501(c)(3) in 2020. Along the way it has mounted eighteen exhibitions and performances on gender identity, cultural identity, the environment and southern revisionism. From October 5, 2026, the same room opens every Monday from 6 to 8 pm for drop-in figure drawing with a live, undraped model and no instruction. Gallery hours are Thursday and Friday 1 to 5, Saturday 11 to 5 and Sunday 1 to 5, so a weekday morning finds the hilltop closed. Come to see the shows the members choose and hang for themselves, with no outside gallery running the room, or to keep a drawing hand in practice on a Monday night.
