Pond Gallery

Pond Gallery is at the bottom of the Center Street stairs beneath David Adams Fine Jewelry, in a basement Meus Floral ran as a flower shop until 2024. When the florist moved around the corner, three working artists took the room, built it out by hand, and have run it since as their own gallery: rotating shows of original work by named artists, with a lean toward Arkansas- and Southern-connected artists now working elsewhere. In summer 2026 the room held BIRDHOUSE, new birdhouses by 58 artists from five countries, on view May 22 through August 8. The name, the founders told Burnaway, is for fishing the ponds, lakes, and creeks around here, a habit two of them brought from growing up together in Jackson, Mississippi. It keeps gallery hours of three on a Saturday morning, ten to one; any other time, you book an appointment. Nobody waited on an institution to put serious art on the square. Three artists made the room for it themselves, one flight below the sidewalk.
